I determined how Order Items and Item Issuances can be associated with Shipment Items but encountered different problems.
Order Items can be associated with Shipment Items using the "Shipment Plan" page of the Shipments application. The OrderShipment entity is used to associate such information and allows for ship group specification.
Item Issuances can be associated with Shipment Items using the "Order Items" page of the Shipments application. Item Issuances only seem to be used when a store's "Reserve Inventory" setting is set to "Y." The ItemIssuance entity is similar to the OrderShipment entities but allows for an inventoryItemId to be specified.
Even though I determined how to associate such information, the forms used to do so still have major problems that I'll created separate issues to resolve.
