# I was not the initial contributor of the appserver component: if memory serves it was there since the early days of the project
# the changes that (probably) "broke" it were NOT the bootstrap improvements that I contributed recently (in fact them would simplify the integration with an external application server); what is really preventing us to deploy into an external Tomcat is the OFBiz bootstrap process based on Containers (Catalina, Classpath - that I have not removed -, Birt, RMI etc...); but this mechanism is there since a long time
