I have just updated the current site, I have added a "what's new?" title in the 1st block and some new features and a link to the "Main New Features" page in our documentation.
Jeroen, sure you can help. The 1st great help could be to signal which links are not working. I understand that you would want to do more. For that you should better ask on user or even dev ML, you might get a better feedback there.
Raj, This is an interesting idea and like Jeroen's should be better discussed on MLs.
Don't forget to put a back-link to this issue in your messages to MLs.
