We have had big discussions in the past regarding how we deal with themes before. And I agree that the current solutions are cumbersome and limiting to work with (real experience in a project last year where I found that many elements don't allow to be dynamically configuring of style and such).
I welcome this plan, but agree that we first need to get the current big undertaking out of the way. I suggest we park it for now and revisit when the time is ripe.
