Pierre,

I believe the required changes would need a branch to be seriously done, even if patches can give an idea. Now I'm unsure someone is ready to support this branch. So I wonder if we should not discuss this before you continue your effort. Because if nobody want to engage this effort with you and the community is against these changes, then you will only use the Jira issues for your own purpose. So IMO 2 points need to be validated:
# Does the community agree with these changes, if they are well done?
# If yes, is at least someone ready to support this endeavour?
