Pierre Smits commented on OFBIZ-5959:
-------------------------------------

This is what Len Silverston had to say regarding the universal data model (UDM) and PARTY ROLE:

{quote}
The PARTY ROLE entity maintains information associated with each role that a PERSON or ORGANIZATION
plays, thus providing a more complete profile of each party by identifyingall the roles played by each
party.
{quote}

And regarding the distinction between PARTY ROLE and PARTY RELATIONSHIP:
{quote}
In order to provide meaningful relationship information, it is essential to distinguish which information should be stored with the PARTY, which information is associated withthe PARTY ROLE and which information is associated with the PARTY RELATIONSHIP.

> Currently the assignments of roles to parties are boolean (there or not there).
> However, these role assignments also have a lifespan. This can be achieved by adding fromDate and thruDate fields.
