Hi Gareth, we crossed on wire.
We already use minified versions of heavy js files (jQuery mostly) OOTB. We could bo better, but I believe for very little improvement as you outline.
I introduced the "ant minifyJsCss target" with OFBIZ-4792 but reverted it because it got issues with Birt see OFBIZ-4849. Since I did not care, I believe this should be let to users... Your experience seems to prove my belief, thanks for sharing!
