Thai labels are changed. Was that intentional? 2. Some of your "improved" labels only change upper case letters to lower case letters. I believe the "de facto" best practice for field labels is to capitalize each word. Sentences would have only the first word capitalized, of course. > New and improved Italian labels > ------------------------------- > > Key: OFBIZ-1864 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-1864 > Project: OFBiz > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: ALL COMPONENTS > Affects Versions: SVN trunk > Reporter: Bruno Busco > Priority: Minor > Attachments: italian_labels.patch > > > Please find attached a patch with some improvements to Italian labels and some new label definitions . -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - You can reply to this email to add a comment to the issue online. |

[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-1864?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ] Bruno Busco updated OFBIZ-1864: ------------------------------- Attachment: italian_labels_1.patch Adrian, the thai label change was not intentional (a side effect of my editor). I have attached an updated patch talian_labels_1.patch. About the uppercare/lowercase change I have found that many times in other languages the all lowercase is used and it seems to me preferable above all in the ecommerce, in email messages and if pdf prints to customer. > New and improved Italian labels > ------------------------------- > > Key: OFBIZ-1864 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-1864 > Project: OFBiz > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: ALL COMPONENTS > Affects Versions: SVN trunk > Reporter: Bruno Busco > Priority: Minor > Attachments: italian_labels.patch, italian_labels_1.patch > > > Please find attached a patch with some improvements to Italian labels and some new label definitions . -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - You can reply to this email to add a comment to the issue online. |

UI are for users, they don't know anything about fields, entities, etc. It's just text for them, like in a newspaper... I suppose this habit comes from a leasy way of transposing CamelCase words used in code and such. I can't see any plus in it, but a dangerous way of perverting old rules. Like you see, but worse, also in SMS. In one word : decline (ok I'm a bit old fashioned when it comes to speak about language, no surprise : I'm French ;o). Sometimes, it makes sense though (IBM Marketing services generalised this way of writing) : when you need to introduce a new concept which has no meaning outside of your jargon (like in Java Enterprise Edition for instance). This is only my opinion :o) > New and improved Italian labels > ------------------------------- > > Key: OFBIZ-1864 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-1864 > Project: OFBiz > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: ALL COMPONENTS > Affects Versions: SVN trunk > Reporter: Bruno Busco > Priority: Minor > Attachments: italian_labels.patch, italian_labels_1.patch > > > Please find attached a patch with some improvements to Italian labels and some new label definitions . -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - You can reply to this email to add a comment to the issue online. |

I can only speak from an English perspective - that's why I requested more comments. When I browse the internet, it is mostly the same for data entry forms - field labels have capitalized words. I haven't browsed in other languages, so I don't know if that changes things. |
