In one particular case, searching was unsuccessful for an author of a book which was only specified in the product description. Jacopo Cappellato commented on OFBIZ-215: ----------------------------------------- If I'm not wrong, the searches are done against the product's keywords, so this should be a rather trivial work to patch the service that creates the keywords to also consider the long description. However, this would cause a *lot* of keywords generated... for this reason in my opinion the current implementation is better than the one you propose. Are you going to submit a patch for this so we can review it? Granted it will add many keywords, however, that seems a small price to pay to get items to show up during a search. Are you saying the Product.description field is not being indexed when the keyword indexing is done on your instance? Daniel Kunkel commented on OFBIZ-215: ------------------------------------- Ahhh... A bit more testing and reviewing this a bit yielded some additional info: Not a lot more keywords... As reported, the long description was included in the search, but the product description was not. For us, the long description is the very long, very wordy description of the product, whereas the product description was a short list of the highlights, title, author, etc. Indexing - Re-indexing Indeed, the "re-induce" keywords does seem to include both the Product Description and long description, but no reindexing appears to be done when updating the content. In the keyword tab, the screen says: "Keywords are automatically created when product information is changed, but you may manually CREATE or DELETE keywords here as well." which makes me think the software should automatically be updating the keyword list each time the content is edited.
