apache xindice in an OFBiz component.  I haven't quite figured out what to leverage this with but I imagine it can be used pretty well in entity-import as well as deployment configuration management.

Xindice is lacking a demo, but a similar project , eXist http://exist.sourceforge.net/, has a demonstration of what XML databases in general can do.

fyi, the attached rar doesn't add any demostration either, just loads the xml database

actually works this time with everything in the right place for classpath..

minimal webapp that comes included with xindice can be found at http://localhost:8080/xindice

a minimal service called ofbizXindiceConfigInit creates an empty collection with name "mycollection2" as proof that it works.

After reading up a bit on xindice, this should be the easiest way to do the data import stuff that was discussed on the mailing list about a month back (various rules; roll back import on error, roll back file on error, continue on error, etc), provided the xml files for the larger entities are broken up into smaller files so as to run out of memory.

The webapp worked (at https://192.168.2.4:28443/xindice), but I had a problem with the service :

ERROR: Could not complete the [file:/D:/workspace/ofbizRun/specialpurpose/xindice/script/org/ofbiz/xindice/XindiceServices.xml#ofbizXindiceConfigInit] process [Method to execute named getCollection threw an exception: org.xmldb.api.base.XMLDBException: Cannot communicate with the server: http://localhost:8080/xindice/]

I thought it was a port issue (I use 28443 and 28080) but I tried with both ports and noway, did not look further.
