Hi All,
I am very new to ofbiz but have a challenging task ahead but I am sure with little guidance I will be able to achieve that. Could you be kind enough to point me to the right doc/tutorial/example/anything which can help me to achieve the following: 1) I need to integrate an auction system with ofbiz 2) It has been told to me that auction system is not available in ofbiz as of now 3) It has been advised that Drupal (CMS) does have an OOTB auction system; therefore, integrating ofbiz with Drupal could be one way out 4) I have googled and found out that there is an open source auction system everyauction (http://www.everyauction.info/). I am not sure how good it is, but would it be a good idea to even attempt integrating everyauction(assuming that it is good) with ofbiz ? everyauction is written in pearl. 5) If you feel point 4 above is a good option, then could you be kind enough to give me some hints on how to go about the same. 6) Do you fel point 3 above is an overkill? (since ofbiz has its own CMS and I am yet to map customer CMS requirements with OOTB of biz CMS) Please help ! Regards, Rohit |

hello:
1) your better to start from scratch 2) Though there is no specific structure for auctions I believe there is enough structure you will not have to do a complete design 3)Integration at what level. Ofbiz is its own kind of animal. Best to get familiar with ofbiz before talking integration. 4)Again #3 if you want to develop a design from these programs then add to ofbiz you will be time and effort ahead. 5) here are some documentation, they are not complete. You will have to dig thru the code as well. http://docs.ofbiz.org/display/OFBADMIN/OFBiz+Documentation+Index http://docs.ofbiz.org/pages/listpages-dirview.action?key=OFBTECH http://docs.ofbiz.org/pages/listpages-dirview.action?key=OFBENDUSER 6) if you have a front end in Apache you can use pearl but then you duplicating efforts. note some section of ofbiz require more work to be considered useful, you are welcome to add your efforts to ofbiz. rohitpant sent the following on 4/17/2008 11:31 PM: > Hi All, > I am very new to ofbiz but have a challenging task ahead but > I am sure with little guidance I will be able to achieve that.
