Thanks for your patients
it was in fact an editor utf-8 setting that we kept on trying , but wasn't working
as you perseveared  so did we, and it finally worked,  go figure why???
but I'll have to force import excel data to utf-8 for sure , I'll try your technique Ray and I'm open for anybodies
advice on this.
