A lot depends on what you are trying to integrate. Do you want to the
applications to share the same database? Or are you just trying to
integrate the web interface by allowing single-signon features?
This can be a difficult task. I would NOT recommend integrating at
the database level. I would try to keep the two systems as isolated
as possible and only integrate those critical pieces that makes sense
through simple web interfaces (HTML).
