[OFBiz] Dev - is sendOrderConfirmation "deprecated"?

Is the service sendOrderConfirmation considered "deprecated", superseded
by sendGenericNotificationEmail now?

So if we make any modifications, should we do it to
sendGenericNotificationEmail instead?

We're implementing a new feature to include an optional custom message
to confirmation emails and then store them as communications.
