I forgot to mention MS Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions are free and have
many good features like column mode and fonts optimized for LCD screens.

This site has a number of editor reviews including whether they have column
mode.

are free with column mode.

Subject: [OFBiz] Dev - Text edit with Column selection
Does anyone know of a text editor that allows column selection and copy and
paste that is free? Boxer editor does it comercially, but I'm looking for a
free alternative. Thanks in advance
