Easy. Start with an example, a small localized change that  
demonstrates your idea. Submit it as a patch, get feedback, and get  
others to help you apply it more generally.

This happens over and over in a project like OFBiz, and has happened  
many thousands of times. Even the core committers work with each  
other this way.
