Hi Guys,
I was just wondering if someone had a positive experience with integrating OpenCMS into ofbiz and use it versus the built-in CMS? Because, I find the native CMS is a bit complex and not too content manager people-friendly...so looking for some alternatives. Best Regards, Mike |
I believe that Shi Yusen has done a bunch of work in this area. It has been discussed on the dev mailing list a number of times.

BTW, we did it on OpenCms 6.2.1 and OFBiz r514134. OFBiz Head may not
work. We'll wait OFBiz 4.0 release and then update this integration. Regards, Shi Jinghai/Beijing Langhua Ltd. > I believe that Shi Yusen has done a bunch of work in this area. Shi Jinghai, do you happen to have a demo server set up where we could view this? I bet that this would spur adoption if people saw an improved, yet integrated interface.

Sorry, we don't have a demo server now.

Do you have a patch or anything you can submit to JIRA? I too would
love to see this in action. If we can work through any license issues (I'm not sure of the OpenCMS license) it would be nice to include in the trunk. If not, we can always add it to the OFBiz extensions repository if you are interested! The license is LGPL:
http://www.opencms.org/opencms/en/support/faq.html "OpenCms uses the lesser GNU general public license, or LGPL, version 2.1." Here's Shi's original email to the dev list which will probably point us to the patches:

From what I can see, there is still no file to download on Sourceforge. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

There is code in their CVS

Hi Andrew,
I guess you are the author of the service part, right? Great work, I should thank you. Are you suspecting what we did? Honestly, nothing special. All the RMI client/server codes are modified from OFBiz, and all the license claim in the source code is NOT changed, still in Apache. We only replaced the delegator, local dispatcher and some other methods with new ones in CmsOFBizRMIClient.java, and these new methods will call the rmiservice to get response. That's all. Oh, the anon checkout methods are added because we need them. If using log4j to replace OpenCms's CmsLog in the client side, then this integration will be a generic one, I mean it can be integrated with any java applications, no relations with OpenCms anymore. Sorry for not doing it in this way. Come to the conclusion, just as you mentioned, I agree this integration should be a part of OFBiz. I'm not sure whether I should submit a JIRA now because this integration is only tested with trunk r514134, I tested it with trunk HEAD yesterday and found it couldn't work. Kind Regards, Shi Jinghai/Beijing Langhua Ltd. > Do you have a patch or anything you can submit to JIRA? I too would > love to see this in action. Hi Shi,
Thank you for all your hard work in towards to this integration. I have some question though on usage/build ofbiz to support that. Could you please give me some tips on the following: I have got the latest version of ofbiz-opencms module from CVS. Copied the 'rmiservice' into 'specialpurpose' folder. After I rebuild ofbiz with that service what should I do next? How to call the thing in the browser? What should I do with 'rmiclient'? If you or someone could put the light on these or point me to the right documentation I would be very thankful. Best Regards, Mike

Sorry we didn't offer a document on this. As you see, our English is not
good enough. Here are the steps you may need to do next: 1. Install an OpenCms instance. 2. Use module import function in OpenCms to import the /rmiclient/modules/cn.langhua.opencms.ofbiz_0.3.zip module. 3. Run /system/modules/cn.langhua.opencms.ofbiz/docs/ofbizRMIClient.jsp in OpenCms (sorry again we didn't write this jsp's UI in English) to see whether it can work correctly (see the attachment). If you see the SSL Shake Hands problem, you need to modify the SSL configuration in /system/modules/cn.langhua.opencms.ofbiz/classes/jsse.properties and the jks files as well. If you deploy your OFBiz and OpenCms at the same computer, you can use the /sslcert/createjks.sh to build the jks files directly. That's all and good luck. BTW, we use our own svn. The code on sourceforge may not be the latest. Hi Shi,
Thank you for the detail reply on this. Could you please also give me URL for anon checkout from your svn which is 100% the latest one? Thank you in advance. Best Regards, Mike

Hi Shi,
1) I installed openCMS instance. - ALL was OK 2) Imported module from rmiclient - ALL was OK But I am having issues when I try to run an ofbizRMIClient.jsp in openCMS Explorer window. It can't compile a class for it. Looks like it does not find type definitions. Here's the trace: ============= org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP An error occurred at line: 7 in the jsp file: /WEB-INF/jsp/offline/system/modules/cn.langhua.opencms.ofbiz/docs/ofbizRMIClient.jsp Generated servlet error: CmsOFBizRemoteClient cannot be resolved to a type An error occurred at line: 29 in the jsp file: /WEB-INF/jsp/offline/system/modules/cn.langhua.opencms.ofbiz/docs/ofbizRMIClient.jsp Generated servlet error: GenericEntity cannot be resolved to a type etc.. similiar errors ============= Do you have an idea of why it can not resolve the types and how to fix it? Thank you for any help.

Sorry again. My fault.
After importing the module, the jars in lib folder will be exported from OpenCms VFS to real file system automaticly, and you have to restart your OpenCms to make the jars effective. Suggestion: Restart your OpenCms or your tomcat and try again. Hi Guys,
So anyone got it ever working? After all the stuf regarding SSL handshake problem, I have created self-signed cert, edit properties files, restarted etc. ANd now stuck on "Bad Certificate Error". Does it work with self-signed cert? Or perhaps I am putting the cert and key in the wrong places so it can't find them? Please, let me know if anyone got passed that point. Thanks. |
1. please make sure your ofbiz is r514134, this is a version we
developed on; 2. use this script to create the new jks files, and then copy them to the framework/base/config/; 3. Here is an online example, please don't change it. We're trying to make it release in this month. http://211.157.108.139/cn/dushu/tushuyougou/product.html?productId=GZ-2644 Regards, Shi Jinghai/Beijing Langhua Ltd. 在 2007-07-05四的 13:31 -0700,MrJohnBrown写道: > Hi Guys, > > So anyone got it ever working?
