ASF Board Report for 2009-06

I just found out a bit ago that the ASF board meeting is this week, and not next week as previous announcements had said. That means that the board report is now basically late! I have thrown a quick one together, and it is available here: http://docs.ofbiz.org/display/OFBADMIN/ASF+Board+Report+2009-06 I plan to submit the report later today. I apologize for the short notice (I thought we had another week for this), but feedback and additions are certainly welcome in the next couple/few hours. -David |

I keep raising up the issue of using OFBiz for Apache Infrastructure and we've had interesting conversations over there. Might be good to add it in there for it being documented ....

Hans was referring to something about infra too, but I'm not sure what exactly. Hi David,
In general these subjects were handled by Tim, perhaps better he reacts on that? i was referring to the last report about Infrastructure, shouldn't we mention that we are now using contegix resources and are waiting for the infrateam to respond? I don't know... AFAIK the main issue has been addressed with the direction of Contegix hosting the OFBiz infra just like they are for certain other ASF projects. There are certainly things to address related to this, and at least certain things like builds should probably move to the normal ASF infra, but I'm not aware of any outstanding efforts related to this. Wasn't that thread just a general discussion? I know there was some sentiment requesting support from others at the ASF for the idea of using OFBiz as the solution. I don't think that approach is going to get us very far. In a meritocracy we need to present a solution that is ready to go, start using it ourselves, and then introduce it to the rest of the ASF. I totally agree and I know it's not an easy task. Like you suggested for the business part, I think we should set our own requirements before doing anything and maybe ask for ASF's requirements too. Then we could begin to design something, what do you think ?
