Anyone connecting RS232 based devices to OFBiz?

Mick Knutson
I need to get support for external device inputs to OFBiz. Hoping that
someone has already explored this...?

The POS module deals with that using JavaPOS...
It's the only example that come to my mind (and I'm pretty sure they are no others ;o)

Yes, the POS is not the main module in OFBiz

it would be used in retail Brick and mortor.
what is it you wish to use RS-232 for?
some of the drivers are usb and blue tooth as well.

I want to integrate several external devices to a POS such as scanner, touch
screen etc... They are either rs232 or USB connections.

There should not be any problems at all. Beware of IBM though I got caught one time for a client and had to use the IBM jdk. But
because of an incompatibility with certificate was not able to use startofbizBoth.bat (it was  on Windows)
