If you manually creates a production run and one of the component is
of type WIP then a dependent production run for the WiP (where the
materials are the components of the WIP) will be created.

Hello Jacopo,

From your response I have got a new question. Can I create a production run automatically for a particular product.

Regards,
Anil Sharma.

Hello Anil,

To create a production run for a product which is dependent on other products, you have to create a BOM and while creating assign the product to field with dependent productid and when you create a production run for final finished good, dependent production runs will automatically appear under Assocs tab. Please go through the following example for more clearity:

Basket ball production needs production of two dependent Good i.e. Basket ball's bladder and basket ball's knob. First create the BOM for dependent products i.e. Bladder and Knob
and then create a production run for them.  Then for finally finished good i.e. basket ball , create a BOM, choose product id to field as dependent product ids(like bladder's id  and knob's id). While creating a production run for final finished good, dependent production runs(bladder's production run and knob's production run) will automatically appear under Assocs tab and you have to run those production runs first and then proceed with final finished good production run

Feel free for any further assistance

Thanks

Even if imo using the MRP to get automatic requirements (and from them
purchase orders and production runs) is the best way to go, you can
set on the product the "Requirement Method Enum Id" to "Automatic for
every sales order"
