Currently evaluating ofbiz for manufacturing warehouse
/ inventory use (UK). I have particular question on use of handheld devices for use in warehouse and want to try and understand how I could manipulate warehouse management screens for this purpose. First thought I had was to find out if framework would allow use of User-Agent directive on input to redirect request to different screen definitions particularly suited to the device 1/4 VGA. If not then is the only option to create a separate framework aound the limited functionality needed for the terminals (receive into stock, stock transfer, QA, pick/pack, stocktake) Daniel ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! How about developing a scaled down UI for the handhelds? It wouldn't require a
separate framework, just a separate set of screen widgets. Point the handhelds to the URL for the scaled down UI. We will be doing the same thing here later this year. I'm hoping to develop a UI for cell phones too. Thanks Adrian - I used the term framework a little too
liberally. I had meant to provide a subset of screens within the existing framework. At the moment I am gathering a list of functionality required for the handheld and how to fast track some of the processes (require less input / make assumptions). Schedule for me is probably sooner rather than later, so I'll share my experiences as soon as something tangible to report.
