Hi Everyone
(This is a cross post from the user mailing list) Exciting news - we now have a twitter account that we can use to communicate news and information about the project plus any related topics. Our account name is https://twitter.com/ApacheOfbiz – so please follow us. Thanks Sharan |
If we embed the following in our OFBiz home page, adopters can see all that
is tweeted: <a class="twitter-timeline" href="https://twitter.com/search?q=ofbiz" data-widget-id="588432331314221058">Tweets about ofbiz</a> <script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s); js.id=id;js.src=p+"://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js ";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");</script> Best regards, Pierre Smits *ORRTIZ.COM <http://www.orrtiz.com>* Services & Solutions for Cloud- Based Manufacturing, Professional Services and Retail & Trade http://www.orrtiz.com On Wed, Apr 15, 2015 at 9:02 PM, Sharan-F <[hidden email]> wrote: > Hi Everyone > > (This is a cross post from the user mailing list) > > Exciting news - we now have a twitter account that we can use to > communicate > news and information about the project plus any related topics. > > Our account name is https://twitter.com/ApacheOfbiz – so please follow us. > > Thanks > Sharan > > > > -- > View this message in context: > http://ofbiz.135035.n4.nabble.com/Follow-Us-on-Twitter-tp4666639.html > Sent from the OFBiz - Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > |
Hi All
I think it would be good to insert a Twitter feed on our site but I don't want to see this abused as there are quite OFBiz related Twitter accounts setup that are not officially project ones. The Twitter account ApacheOfbiz is our official project account that is under the control of the PMC. I think that one of the main reasons that we as a project haven't really tweeted before was to do with potential issues around people marketing themselves rather than OFBiz. I'd like to believe that is resolved now but will continue to monitor this. I'm going to draft some guidelines that I hope will help us ensure that we focus on using Twitter to promote OFBiz to businesses, potential newcomers and the community. Thanks Sharan On 15.4.2015 22:45, Pierre Smits wrote: > If we embed the following in our OFBiz home page, adopters can see all that > is tweeted: > > <a class="twitter-timeline" href="https://twitter.com/search?q=ofbiz" > data-widget-id="588432331314221058">Tweets about ofbiz</a> > <script>!function(d,s,id){var > js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s); > js.id=id;js.src=p+"://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js > ";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");</script> > > > Best regards, > > Pierre Smits > > *ORRTIZ.COM <http://www.orrtiz.com>* > Services & Solutions for Cloud- > Based Manufacturing, Professional > Services and Retail & Trade > http://www.orrtiz.com > > On Wed, Apr 15, 2015 at 9:02 PM, Sharan-F <[hidden email]> wrote: > >> Hi Everyone >> >> (This is a cross post from the user mailing list) >> >> Exciting news - we now have a twitter account that we can use to >> communicate >> news and information about the project plus any related topics. >> >> Our account name is https://twitter.com/ApacheOfbiz – so please follow us. >> >> Thanks >> Sharan >> >> >> >> -- >> View this message in context: >> http://ofbiz.135035.n4.nabble.com/Follow-Us-on-Twitter-tp4666639.html >> Sent from the OFBiz - Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com. >> |

Hi,
I agree with Sharan that following #ofbiz might be a bit too much. What we could do though, on the official Apache OFBiz site main page, is following only the official Apache OFBiz Tweeter account. Any ideas on how to do that Pierre? The example I showed in my earlier posting is applying the
'embedded-timeline' functionality. In reply to this post by Jacques Le Roux
I tried to add the official Tweeter timeline (copied from the setting/widget of the official Tweeter account) but it did not work well, no ideas why
(after spending some time on it :/ ) I though committed the change, to be looked again...
