Linked domain for Status Pages no longer supported in Free Plan

Dear UptimeRobot user,

We’re seeing an unprecedented number of Status pages created each week and it’s starting to cause some problems. Therefore we have decided to support custom linked domain Status pages to PRO plan users only.

The main reason is the huge load on our systems and the issuance and renewal of SSL certificates hitting several 3rd party service rate limits while slowing down the process of activating new Status pages significantly.

We still want to offer a lot of useful free services to our community and users, but we need to focus on quality and reliability too.

What does it mean for you?

Please, consider upgrading to the PRO plan so you can continue using your linked domain Status page(s) while getting even more PRO plan benefits like 1-minute intervals and SSL monitoring.

Upgrade to PRO

Otherwise, your linked Status page(s) will be stopped on May 5th, 2021. All your status pages will be still available on the unique UptimeRobot URL (e.g. stats.uptimerobot.com/xxx).

Here is the list of affected status pages:

Thank you for your understanding,
Kristian from UptimeRobot

Hi,

Actually there is though something : https://www.montastic.com/pricing_page

<<Montastic is Free for open-source projects!

Display Montastic status badge on your project GitHub/GitLab README, and get Business plan for Free lifetime.>>

It's limited to showing an OK (like at https://github.com/montastic/montastic-api-doc) or not but that's already something. I'll put it in GitHub and demos page on site

Also a good news: G.W. Haywood [hidden email] has offered a free monitoring. It uses https://icinga.com/ on one of his server, thanks Ged!

Hi Jacques,

The monitoring has triggered just a few times since I started it on
March 12th.  Nothing remarkable, it looks like all alerts have been
either network connectivity issues which were outside our control (and
resolved within a few minutes with no need for action on our part), or
possibly the odd Ofbiz application or machine restart.

It seems like this has it covered.

Ged.

Thanks Ged,

That sounds good indeed. There is also the daily applications restart at 3AM UTC. But I don't see it there, did you made a trick about that?

Perhaps the restarts don't usually cause what Icinga thinks of as a
'hard' failure.  Icinga attempts to make a connection only every few
minutes, and it counts the failed attempts.  More than three failed
attempts consecutively for this service is configured to be a 'hard'
failure and triggers a warning email to me.  All failures are logged,
but fewer than four consecutively will not cause an email to be sent.

There are a few short clusters of failures around 03:40 UTC, are you
sure that the restarts will be at 03:00 UTC and not at around 03:40?
Anyway they're more or less indistinguishable from the occasional and
usually very short network outages that we see all the time.

The original logs don't show the timestamps in easily-readable form.
In my earlier message I used 'localtime' in the Perl one-liner which
formats the output, so the timezone was BST (+0100); below I've used
'gmtime' so it's UTC.

73,
Ged.
