Hi friends,
whats the use of General Ledger -> Setup -> GL Account defaults -> Party Gl Accounts as OFBiz does not supports the concept of Sub-ledgers. Thanks Brijesh M. |

Hi David,
I have tried several times the concept of sub ledger to Ofbiz but I am no able to get the posting to two GL accounts simultaneously. Sorry I am mentioning Opentaps here but I have read at http://www.opentaps.org/docs/index.php/Accounting_for_Engineers that Opentaps does not supports sub-ledger. Can we still implement sub-ledger in OfBiz. Please remove my ignorance for the same. Thanks Brijesh M. Hi
You can simulate subaccounts by filtering the invoices from/to a party. The only thing you don't get is totals. If anyone knows how to setup subledgers in ofbiz and can write a short email on this I would be very grateful. I have battled for weeks with this as well. This posting has been made in many ways but there has been no answer that has clarified the issue in my mind. Is the following for sub accounts? In the setup for the general ledger you can associate the following with a General ledger account. (I have not been able to get this to alter any of the accounts generated): Product GL Accounts Product Category Gl Account Party Gl Accounts I am unsure why you would make these associations. Does anyone know? The only accounts you can associationto are general ledger accounts and if this is for the sub accounts that would be incorrect. In addition, you will always want the entries made to the general ledger as well anyway. If it was for sub accounts you would want - for example: You raise an invoice from supplierXYZ Ofbiz creates an entry to GL Accounts Payable. In addition assocaite supplierXYZ to write to subledger Accounts Payable ( SupplierXYZ) Kind regards Rees ----- Original Message ---- From: Jacques Le Roux <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Monday, 11 August, 2008 8:10:11 AM Subject: Re: GL Account defaults -> Party Gl Accounts From: "brijesh m" <[hidden email]> > Hi David, > I have tried several times the concept of sub ledger to Ofbiz but I am no able to get the posting to two GL accounts > simultaneously.
