Help Needed - To remove tilde (~) from the URL.

Hi,

I need to remove the tilde (~) from the url. For example I would like to display my URL www.xxx.com/product/blog/id=ABC but now in my site it is showing as www.xxx.com/product/~blog/~id=ABC like this. Please suggest me if someone have idea on this.
