Me too. I've heard it said both ways.
Same thing with Jira. Some say jie-rah, some say jeer-rah. -Adrian Quoting Scott Gray <[hidden email]>: > I say O-F-Biz > > Regards > Scott > > HotWax Media > http://www.hotwaxmedia.com > > On 4/02/2011, at 9:04 AM, Jacques Le Roux wrote: > >> Most say OFF-Biz I think >> >> Jacques >> >> Wai wrote: >>> Hello All, >>> Is there a standard for pronouncing ofbiz? >>> Is it O-F-Biz or is it OFF-Biz? >>> Thanks >> > > |

I believe Jira should be pronounced with a short "i" sound, as in Godzilla, which is where the name originated from. http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/JIRA+FAQ

It's definitely "oh-eff-biz". I asked the guy who made up the name and that's what he said. He also pointed out that if you were to try to pronounce the "of" part of the name it wouldn't be "off" it would be "of", as "uv-biz", and that's just ugly, so it's definitely "oh-eff-biz". ;) -David On Feb 3, 2011, at 11:46 AM, Wai wrote: > > Hello All, > > Is there a standard for pronouncing ofbiz? > Is it O-F-Biz or is it OFF-Biz? > > Thanks > -- > View this message in context: http://ofbiz.135035.n4.nabble.com/How-to-pronouce-ofbiz-tp3258850p3258850.html > Sent from the OFBiz - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
