Import data not visible

Hi - I am new to ofbiz.
Our guys have successfullly imported data into the database but this data isn't visible from the application. Also related after creating records (e.g. lead, contact, accounts) they are not visible nor can they be found. (After creating an account it shows under the Account Details but says "This Account Has Been Deactivated").

We did clean all data from the database initially. Is it important to have default or other data in the database?

Any ideas?
