Is it really worth buying Instagram followers these days?

I’ve been running a small travel page for about a year now, posting pictures and short clips from my trips. But honestly, it’s hard to grow. I keep seeing others jump from 500 to 5K followers overnight, and I’m starting to wonder if they’re buying followers. I’m not sure if it’s smart though — like, do these followers actually help with engagement? I don’t want my page to look fake, but I also feel like nobody sees my posts. Has anyone here tried it before and seen real results?
