Thanks Ray for confirming that.
For now I'm getting away with changing the type of "blob" in the fieldtype xml
from "BYTEA" to "OID". But I gotta admit I don't know how this affect's or
will affect the overall system or whether I'm gonna get some nasty surprises
somewhere else.
We definitely need to dig into this further.

Sorry I can only confirm that I've seen it as well, using postgresql
8.0.3, but I can't look into it at the moment. I think it breaks some of
the shipping functionality as one of the entities involved throws an
exception during update.
