[OFBiz] Users - Inventory import questions

Inventory import questions

Hi All,

I have items with ProductAssoc where an inventory quantity can be specified. but is it possible to set an inventory quantity at the product level

for those items with no associations?

as for using facilities for inventory control, I assume products without associations would be added. but for products with associated products only the associations would be added and not the top level product

Thanx
Fred Forester.

Hi All,

I have answered these questions on my own but of course I now have other questions.

what is the difference between Serialized and Non Serialized. Serialized seems to require a one to one correspondence of 1 physical peice of inv and an ofbiz inventory item. Non Serialized only has one ofbiz Inventory Item containing the entire ATP/QOH. however I do not get how the "Physical Inventory Variances Reason" comes into play.

Thanx

Hi Fred

>From my understanding, Serialized means that each piece in inventory is
tracked independently, like a car with a particular serial number vs "in
bulk", like a bolt.

I hope this helps.
