Hi all,
IIt seems that the registration of our project at http://projects-new.apache.org is not correct as it isn't listed in the overview of Projects by PMC ( https://projects-new.apache.org/projects.html?pmc). The reason is explained below. Could we have this fixed please? I think that their scripts should be updated; in fact OFBiz has a project doap file that is hosted in the OFBiz web site rather than in the following folder:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/infrastructure/site-tools/trunk/projects/data_files/ The above configuration setting is set here: https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/infrastructure/site-tools/trunk/projects/pmc_list.xml Jacopo On Apr 13, 2015, at 2:02 AM, Jacques Le Roux <[hidden email]> wrote: > Thanks Pierre, > > I will take care of that as soon as I will get a chance... > > Jacques > > Le 13/04/2015 08:43, Pierre Smits a écrit : >> Hi all, >> >> IIt seems that the registration of our project at >> http://projects-new.apache.org is not correct as it isn't listed in the >> overview of Projects by PMC ( >> https://projects-new.apache.org/projects.html?pmc). The category chosen for OFBiz is a bit odd. It is in the "Database" category. https://projects-new.apache.org/projects.html?category "Frameworks and tools" looks like a more accurate choice given the exiting categories. Perhaps we could ask for a new category "Application" to be added. The rank by number of committers looks good with OFBiz in the top 1/3 of projects. In the doap file we currently have
<category rdf:resource="http://projects.apache.org/category/web-framework" /> <category rdf:resource="http://projects.apache.org/category/database" /> <category rdf:resource="http://projects.apache.org/category/network-server" /> <category rdf:resource="http://projects.apache.org/category/xml" /> <category rdf:resource="http://projects.apache.org/category/http" /> <category rdf:resource="http://projects.apache.org/category/content" /> So content does not show yet, I added it 3 months ago I agree aboutbeing in "frameworks and tools" category. I wonder if OFBiz would not be alone in an application category ;) What about "project-management"? We have a good component. I think that the main thing is to get into the categories that people
looking for "something like OFBiz" would look. I suspect that if it was in the project-management category, we would get people who are upset that they have to load up so much software to get a PM tool. We would be alone in Application. There are more categories with only one reference, so that shouldn't be an
issue.
