POS

Hi There

Can any body please guide me as how to enter product so that its visible on
the POS. I have successfully downloaded ofbiz POS from internet and had run
it successfully. Also I have configured to run both POS and ecommerce
together. But the major problem is that I am not able to view any thing
inside POS. When I Click on GIZMO1,GIZMO2,GIZMO3,GIZMO4,GIZMO5 and WIDGET1 I
get to see only "Terminal Is Closed" and even there is nothing inside PROMO.
So Please help me in adding product to it.

Press Manager button MGR and open the register, then input the initial amount e.g. 10000 (without decimal point) -Enrique

You must open the register by giving an amount (will go in the drawer). Look at Manager Panel.

Hi there I did the way u told me but even that didn't work. I want to add my
own catalog, category and product to POS and want to make purchase of my
added products.

What do you mean by "Add to POS". To set up your store and catalogs
refer to the detailed Business Setup Guide available on Ofbiz wiki.  
Also search for POS setup guide available somewhere on Wiki.

After setting up store, catalogs, categories and product, they should
should be available to POS application similar to way they are available
to the  e-commerce application. You will need POS hardware such as
Receipt Printer, Scanner, Cash Drawer etc to make a complete POS system.

If you mean by updating the product shortcuts on POS window, I think you
will need to do it some configuration file (I am not sure which one).

Raj you explained it perfectly.

Products cannot be obtained dynamically from categories.
They are hardcoded in posmain.xml

Yes !

The idea behind it is that you generally don't want to have access to *all* your products. Most of the time you use a barcode
scanner to get products references. It's up to you to show whatever products you want using a combination of panel (aka categories)
and products in these panels. Actually, remember that the UI, as it is, is a demo...

Hi There

I have one more concern. Like suppose I am running 3 to 4 stores at a time
and I have 3 to 4 website assigned. I want that when an admin of a
particular store login he should be able to view only his particular
catalogmgr, ordermgr and so on. He should be able to view only the datas
specific to that particular store and not the datas of other store. I this
way we can manage security and prevent user from tampering others data.

I am new to the erp product.
Actually i am not able to view the point of sale module it is disabled in the open taps
i configure the applications/accounting/config/payment.properties file as mentioned in the opentaps manual.

First ly open your store.
Click on MGR button
Select open button.
Your store is now open and you can sell the product easily.
Same processor follow for closing teh store.
