Re: People complaining about a real release

Tim Ruppert
Jacques, this is what I'm thinking:

1. SVN export
-- I'm not a big fan of the export for just the reason you mentioned
-- they'd need to redownload the whole thing to start working directly
from it
-- I think that's a bigger pain than having the SVN files in there.

2. Filesize - I'll put that on there immediately

3. Version Number
-- Let's add that to the filename for now
-- Did you have something else in mind?

4. Text
-- Fixed per Jacques instructions

Cheers,
Tim

Tim,

First of all thanks for you work on this. I'm sure it's not as easy as it may look from outside.

Maybe we could wait for other opinion, I can't see a problem with some more MB, it's not a big cons argument and will be less and
less. I'm just curious of Jacopo's thought/(arguments maybe) about that.

Something very simple (harcoded) as in footer.ftl files in release4.0

I'm sure it was just size related - and not a big deal.

The only problem is that since this isn't based upon SVN keywords or
anything, that we'll have an updated footer.ftl with incorrect
information going forward - which in my opinion is a bad idea.
Thoughts?

Yes you are right indeed, this would one more worry when launching a new release (I could note it somewhere but we can't rely on
such a way of doing things, I agree)... OK forget it, except if someone has a better idea ?

Everything's up there except the new filename with the SVN version
number in it - which will happen sometime later today.
