Preferred way to search content - findServices or Ecommerce example (lucene)?

Hello,

Ecommerce application has (non-working) code to search content (separate
from product search) that uses lucene library. Almost everything else uses
findServices to search. What is the preferred way (that will be supported in
future)? Thanks in advance.

As with many things, requirements related to search vary from application to application and organization to organization, so there will always be a need for a variety of searching tools.
