Problem connecting to the 9.04 Demos

Sharan-F
Hi

I'm having problems connecting to the 9.04 demos from the ofbiz.apache.org site. I'm using links under the 'Demo Sites'  heading to access both the Ecommerce and Management Applications but they're not going through to anything.

The links to the demos for the trunk ecommerce and management applications work. Does anyone know if anything has changed?

Thanks
Sharan

Hi Sharan

Apache's svn server was down a few hours ago, I'm just guessing but it
could be due to a failed update or something.

Regards
Scott

In reply to this post by Sharan-F
this lets you know if the site is running
https://demo904.ofbiz.org/catalog/control/ping
should get a page with the word PONG on it.
I am not getting the PONG.
I see a waiting for demo904.ofbiz.org in the web browser status bar
I think that indicates the tomcat is running but ofbiz is hung.

Yeah - I've noticed this as well and will be sending something off to Contegix with many parties attached to it so that they can help out if I'm away from my computer.  Thanks for the report.

Its probably related to this problem but there is the following error message on the home page of the ecommerce demo:

org.ofbiz.widget.screen.ScreenRenderException: Error rendering screen [component://ecommerce/widget/ContentScreens.xml#factoids]: java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find SimpleMapProcessor XML document in resource: org/ofbiz/content/ContentManagementMapProcessors.xml (Could not find SimpleMapProcessor XML document in resource: org/ofbiz/content/ContentManagementMapProcessors.xml)

Re: Problem connecting to the 9.04 Demos

BJ Freeman
In reply to this post by Sharan-F
actually it was the ajp that gave the message
you can find it in the apache logs
[error] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ajp_ilink_receive()
can't receive header
it can be because ofbiz is doing a lot of tasks and it does not return
the header in time.
it can also mean that ofbiz is down.

That was yesterday man - at least my message - and it was working within 3 minutes of being restarted - thus the smiley face.  Now the problem we're having today is a different one, but I'm on it with Contegix and it'll be fixed shortly I'm sure.

Cheers,

In reply to this post by Sharan-F
LOL was not trying to get on your case, Only correct why the message
could happen.
I had to create the situation on my server so I could get the message to
show you. hence it took a while.
