Questions Project Management.

frein.mccain
Users,

I am newbie for ofbiz, I am trying to use ofbiz's project management
module for my clients requirements,
I have a question: Is OFBiz provides project initiation functionality (like
objectives, scope, purpose and deliverable) in Project management module?

If yes then where I can find it ?

Regards,
Frein

I have a similar question, Hans.
I see PROJECT_TEMPLATE, PHASE_TEMPLATE,TASK_TEMPLATE that the parent is
TEMPLATE. But from there I lose the trail.
Is this something you are working on or is there a reference so i can
create my own.

I am guessing that in the WorkEffortType I would have a type of
manufacturing template that the parents are the  PROJECT_TEMPLATE,
PHASE_TEMPLATE,TASK_TEMPLATE.
Like MakeWidget_Mfgr with paretn PROJECT_TEMPLATE. This would then
pullin the Phases and Task templates for MakeWidget_Mfgr.

my only question is are you going to use content as a way to do these or
some other approach.

These functions are currently not present in the project component.
We do however have document management in the content component which
could be used as a basis to implement this in the project component.

If you have some requirement document, we could sure do this for you.

Hans

Hi BJ,

Templates are created by creating a project and save the project as a
template. The structure of the roject is saved however without the dates
and resource assignments.
The workeffortTypes are different so they can be ignored by task
selection for timesheets etc.

Hans
