Hi Cris,
I looked at your Rental Improvement page and like your ideas. I also want to expand the order entities for better support of rental items and I am ready to participate. - Bilgin |
Hi Bilgin,
Thank you for taking a look. David and Jacopo had some concerns about my initial ideas so I revamped them and they haven't responded yet to my revisions so I'm not sure about the fit with the community project. I was only going to move my personal implementation to the "functional" stage shown the diagrams if the community wasn't interested. More importantly, would the changes in the data model that I suggested make implementing rental easier for your industry? http://docs.ofbiz.org/display/~cjhowe/Rental+Improvement Chris --- Bilgin Ibryam <[hidden email]> wrote: > Hi Cris, > I looked at your Rental Improvement page and like your ideas. Chris,
I'm also taking a look. Some questions. Far as you know, what recurring billing mechanisms already exist in OFBiz? How much of those existing mechanisms does your proposal reuse? Thanks! AFAIK, The mechanisms currently in OFBiz are around the shopping list
services and potentially some minor stuff related to the OpenTravel stuff. Recurrent orders are implemented with the shopping list. Recurring billing is a slight bit different since a new order shouldn't be created. In addition, my immediate need is dependent on changing prices and issuing multiple invoices, so I have no plan to reuse any existing mechanism unless there is an interest in the community to move down that diagram towards the "desired" and "refactored" models. --- Jonathon -- Improov <[hidden email]> wrote: > Chris, > > I'm also taking a look. I have needs like special weekend rent prices, multiple payers and
invoices per rent and so on. And with the current implementation i do not see how to achieve these needs. With your changes they look more possible. -Bilgin |
