Hello all!
I've followed the guide in the wiki about making themes, and have created the skeleton of a theme, leaving out the "if needed" parts. I was hoping to be able to build on the empty theme from the ground up, but the theme doesn't show up in my theme list. What am I doing wrong? Are there vital files I'm missing? Do I have to flush down the cache? Is there a minimal amount of theme I have to put somewhere, and if so, where? Thanks! |

Maybe you can try to use the script at https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-3490
There are some helpful comments there too Jacques From: "Olivier Tremblay" <[hidden email]> > Hello all! > > I've followed the guide in the wiki about making themes, and have created the skeleton of a theme, leaving out the "if needed" > parts. you have to either do a ant run-install-file
or import the file your modified /themes/mytheme/data/ThemeData.xml through the webtools. if you went the route of /framework/common/data/CommonTypeData.xml then you must do the same with that file as well. if you did a backeend theme then select it through the themes link at the top of any page. if you did a eccommerce theme then select it in the productstore associated with the website you want to use it on. ========================= BJ Freeman http://bjfreeman.elance.com Strategic Power Office with Supplier Automation <http://www.businessesnetwork.com/automation/viewforum.php?f=93> Specialtymarket.com <http://www.specialtymarket.com/> Systems Integrator-- Glad to Assist Chat Y! messenger: bjfr33man <http://www.linkedin.com/profile?viewProfile=&key=1237480&locale=en_US&trk=tab_pro> Olivier Tremblay sent the following on 5/5/2010 6:22 AM: > Hello all! > > I've followed the guide in the wiki about making themes, and have created the skeleton of a theme, leaving out the "if needed" parts. Any chance this could be added up to the wiki? That kind of info is somewhat hard to stumble upon, and I think it would have its place in the same page as the Theme guide.

This is part of the open wiki, so you can do it yourself
Help is much appreciated in this area like in others... Thanks Jacques From: "Olivier Tremblay" <[hidden email]> > Any chance this could be added up to the wiki? At Olivier's demand I was looking at adding BJ's comment in the
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OFBIZ/Visual+Themes+-+How+to page. But I see that Ruth has already made a comment about that and Bruno modified accordingly Now when I read the 1st section "How to install a Visual Theme" I think there is something wrong with it. You should not need to install demo data when you want to install a new theme. Or at least we should explain that it's only for demo purpose. we have two ways to install
the current one uses ant and the build.xml theses should be seed themes with one set for default. the Setup, at first cut, would have the user select what they want for default. Have some other ideas for later. will get those documented in a new section of Doc books in framework. ========================= BJ Freeman Strategic Power Office with Supplier Automation <http://www.businessesnetwork.com/automation/viewforum.php?f=52> Specialtymarket.com <http://www.specialtymarket.com/> Systems Integrator-- Glad to Assist Chat Y! messenger: bjfr33man Jacques Le Roux sent the following on 12/5/2010 2:53 AM: > At Olivier's demand I was looking at adding BJ's comment in the > https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OFBIZ/Visual+Themes+-+How+to > page. > But I see that Ruth has already made a comment about that and Bruno > modified accordingly > > Now when I read the 1st section "How to install a Visual Theme" I think > there is something wrong with it.
