This is the vote to approve the 4.0.0 RC1 "release", which is really a test snapshot to test the release process and legal artifacts and such. The files we are voting on are the same as were created last Saturday and that have been discussed over the week. To reiterate, the main things we need to review for this test snapshot are: 1. PGP signature (.asc) and MD5 checksum (.md5) file validity 2. Proper license headers, NOTICE, and LICENSE files 3. Basic unarchive and run success This is not meant to be a release in the traditional sense with a branch, testing cycles, and so on, and is not meant to be a reference point or used by end-users. It is an important part of the incubation process for OFBiz at the ASF and after we approach a test snapshot release we will submit it to the larger incubator community and the incubator board for review. If there is sufficient response in 24 hours we'll close the vote after that, otherwise we'll wait until Monday to close the vote. For more details on this release, including links to files to download, see the Confluence page at: http://docs.ofbiz.org/x/wAE Note that the best place to download the files is from the people.apache.org links there. -David |
Hi David
While reading this I remembered that there are still <copyright>Copyright (c) 2002 The Open For Business Project - www.ofbiz.org</copyright> tags in many of the entity related xml files. A quick search shows about 27 of these. I assume these need to be removed before we graduate? I can submit a patch if you like Regards Scott David E Jones wrote: > To reiterate, the main things we need to review for this test snapshot > are: > > 2. Thanks for the heads up on this Scott. I did a search for "Copyright * The Open For" and got a bunch of these in the entity def XMl files, and also a few in FTL and other files. I think this is enough of an issue to warrant a second pass on a test snapshot release, so I'll send out details on that and a call for a new vote in just a bit. -David On Sep 15, 2006, at 2:18 AM, Scott Gray wrote: > Hi David > > While reading this I remembered that there are still > <copyright>Copyright (c) 2002 The Open For Business Project - > www.ofbiz.org</copyright> tags in many of the entity related xml > files.
