can you cancel an order?

rhodebump
Can one cancel an order after it's been submitted in the ecommerce store?

It appears that one can cancel a payment, is this what most folks do when one would want to cancel an order?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about from ecommerce, but you can cancel them from the
order manager.

You should be able to do it from ecommerce, that used to be there
anyway... just on the order detail screen (from the order history).

Re: can you cancel an order?

Scott Gray
You cancel the order by cancelling all of the order items, it's not
working though because of some permissions problems.

As David answered you CAN cancel from the ecommerce side under order
history at the item level, which escalates to the order level and it
worked for me as a quick test on the hot wax demo site.

Scott,

Just tested cancelling in the ordermgr using the hot wax demo site and
it worked OK. So this is either a fairly recent change, as the demo site
is usually with 24hrs I think, or it's a little more specific to the
data you choose to use. Maybe a little more info on what you added and
who you tried doing it as?

Phillip to be clear on your original question you need to click the
"Edit Items" link when viewing the order and then you can either cancel
specific rows or all the items.

Now come on Ray work with me here, do you really think admin is going
to have problems with permissions?  Try it with DemoCustomer :-)

Ray he was asking if a customer could do this.
I just attempted to create a customer then login on the Hotwax demo and
could not
not sure how you tested this.

Re: can you cancel an order?

Ray Barlow
He mentioned ecommerce but I read between the lines that he was talking
about order management, especially when he said:

"It appears that one can cancel a payment, is this what most folks do when one would want to cancel an order?"

as you can't control payment changes through the ecommerce side.

I wasn't testing creating a user so I just used admin (then DemoCustomer
following other comments) to create an order. I suspect your create
problems are related to messages about missing parameters, if so then
just retry the action i.e. if add to cart fails then click it again.

Ray

PS: I have just successfully created a new customer and raised a new
order using the demo site, just have to be persistent.

[ PS: I have just successfully created a new customer and raised a new

not a problems for us loyalist. :)
but it really creates a problem when this is suppose to represent what
ofbiz does.
Perspective clients are not amused.
