The way you described the solution makes me think GraphQL might seems like a better fit, because it works almost the same way.
Anyway, I have a few ideas for a PoC now, but I don't know if anyone is working on this so far? If not, should I submit an initial patch for discussion? Or do you folks want to collaborate somehow? Ideas
