Awath, i do not see anything wrong, currently the EditCommunicationEvent screen is shown.....
In your patch you modify the type which is used to show which type of communication event should be shown....

I am noticing some other issues.
 When clicked on the CommEvent tab
1 The first field 'Email address' shows an empty drop down
2. The CommEvent tab is not highlighted.

please note that 'communication is now a general 'coomunicationEvent' application. "myCommunication" is now specialized for the current user and specific commevent"
