Minor improvement to the OFBIZ Logo by Jacques... Current logo too wordy!! Also, Apache logo is separated from the OFBiz logo. There must be a closer link/bond between Apache and OFBIZ in the drawing, and less wordiness!?

More colour & closer ties w/Apache ... Feather in/above the "O". Keep it simple, but convey the idea. Now, this might fit better on a business card or a brochure. Good Luck to all objective developers hoping to improve every aspect of the project.

Please compare the minor improvements with the current logo "ofbiz_logo.jpg". A logo should not contain a story in words! The logo itself should symbolically identify the company/Project.

Rafik,

I'm not sure that we will not use your work. I agree that a logo have to be simpe. But for the moment we are not really Apache, we are in incubator. It makes a difference and I guess that's why there are "so much" words in the logo. Anyway thanks for you new ideas. I hope that more people will be interested by this. Even if I'm not sure that we, OFBiz developpers, are actually much interested by such issue ;o)

I agree with Jacques - thanks for spending some time on this. It's nice to see people getting excited about the look and feel.

I certainly hope that you'll get energized as we start to do a reorganization of the OFBiz site and work on making the demo applications a bit cleaner as well. I'm afraid I'm going to have to stick to my comments on the last issue where some of these files were uploaded. Perhaps there was some misunderstanding, so I'll try to make it clear again.

We spent a lot of time and effort getting the current logo to where it is and the logo was voted on and accepted and we do NOT want to open up the issue again for more effort. There are simply too many other far more important issues and objectives to work on, and this logo has only been in place for a couple of months.

The current logo meets the requirements that we have for an Apache OFBiz logo:

- the large logo has the full name of the project: The Apache Open For Business Project, with the words in order and clearly legible

- the small logo has the full abreviated name of the project: Apache OFBiz

- we have a graphic element to represent Apache (the feather)

- we have a graphic element to represent the OFBiz project within the ASF (the compass and power button combination)

- we have colors similar to those that have been used since the beginning for OFBiz

Hi,
Thanks for the boost of confidence! I will be more involved overall, as I am
developing a Real Estate application based on OFBiz. I am also a bit tied up
doing stuff with Ruby on Rails... Good Luck to all - Count me in as somebody
who is putting effort to promote OFBiz in the Metro Boston Area.
