Thanks Jacques - that did fix the error on that page but now it has exposed a new error:

Sorry I should have included steps to reproduce before:
1. start here
https://localhost:8443/ebaystore/control/main2. click submit without changing anything
3. click block items out of stock
4. now you should see the above error message.
