[jira] Created: (OFBIZ-3976) Ofbiz Website Migration

Nicolas Malin (Jira)
Ofbiz Website Migration
-----------------------

                 Key: OFBIZ-3976
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-3976
             Project: OFBiz
          Issue Type: Sub-task
          Components: ALL COMPONENTS
    Affects Versions: jQuery
            Reporter: Sascha Rodekamp
             Fix For: jQuery

Hi,
here is the migration for the ofbiz website.

For applying the patch please:
* extract the zip archiv and copy the files under framework/images/jquery/plugins/jcarousel
* delete the effects.js and slides.js in specialpurpose/ofbizwebsite/webapp/ofbiz/script
* apply the patch file

The jcarousel plugin [http://sorgalla.com/projects/jcarousel/] is responsible for moving the content in the website header. It's MIT licensed (like jQuery).

Have a good Sunday
Sascha

Sascha,

I wonder if this component still makes sense. It's outdated and difficulit to maintain. David has already expressed concerns about that. It was created by Hans to demonstrate that It's possible to have our site handled by OFBiz. I believe it's a good idea, but then either we have really to using it instead of the one handled by ASF using ASF's way (on people.apache.org, exactly at /www/ofbiz.apache.org) with automatic update from svn feed (we feed the SVN and some infra team mechanism update ti for us there) and it seems that nobody is enough committed to handle that...

Maybe we could have a new discussion about that though. The idea behind it was also to provide an easier i18n of the site (we have nothing right now)...

Yes i noticed the differences. Ok than we should discuss to delete the application.
In other case the jCarousel is a nice image/ content slide plugin we can commit it, i make an Widget Example from it and we can delete the application when everyone agree with it.

It's up to you to decide ;)
