Anil, all,

I don't know if it is a good idead to add the link there.
In general, I don't like the idea of manually creating an inventory item in this way: inventory items should be only created while receiving inventory.
However I understand that there are situations in which creating/editing an inventory item would be necessary and in fact the link is already available from the "inventory items" screen.
For this reason (i.e. avoiding to promote a not completely correct practice) I'd prefer to not commit this patch.

the patch simply adds the "Create New Inventory Item For This Facility" link that is currently in the screen:

This is really not related to this issue, however I think that also the "Create New Facility" links, that are in all the facility subscreens are useless (usually facilities are created during the system setup)... I'd prefer to just leave one of them in the find facility screen.
Does it make sense?

Creating a new facility can be a fairly regular thing to do because they are meant to be more than just warehouses. Whenever a new office building or room in a building or whatever is added it would be needed. For companies that do any sort of facility management this would be even more common. I'd also like to keep it as it is hoped to part of a common pattern in most screens and areas which is intended to make such links easier to find.

I see... it's great to get this kind of feedback because sometime I tend to see things from a limited point of view (i.e. facility == warehouse); thanks David.

And what about the patch submitted by Anil (add the "Create New Inventory Item")? Should we commit it?

Now I feel really stupid that I tried to add this link. I didn't know we
can receive inventory for a Product without creating Inventory Item for it.

So, I definitely don't see its use.
