[jira] Created: (OFBIZ-457) Cannot navigate to later screens of invoice items from invoiceOverview

Nicolas Malin (Jira)
Cannot navigate to later screens of invoice items from invoiceOverview
----------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: OFBIZ-457
                 URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-457
Project: OFBiz (The Open for Business Project)
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: accounting
            Reporter: Iain Fogg

If you have more than 100 invoice items and attempt to navigate to the next screen (via the "Next" button at the bottom of the item list), an error is generated...

org.ofbiz.webapp.control.RequestHandlerException: Unknown request [InvoiceItems]; this request does not exist or cannot be called directly.

The work-around is to go to the "Items" screen and navigate to subsequent screens of invoice items from there. This is painful, but also may be a problem if the user does not have permission to edit invoice items (not sure about this).

Jacopo Cappellato resolved OFBIZ-457.
-------------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

Iain,

I've committed a mod in rev. 475272 that should hopefully fix the issue you have reported: please test it and let me know so that we can close this issue.

Iain Fogg commented on OFBIZ-457:
---------------------------------

Jacopo,

Just so you know I haven't forgotten this. I've run out of large
invoices that are not in ready for posting. I will have another one in
my system by the end of the weekend so I will definitely get to test it
there.

BTW, I haven't checked the code, but how hard would it be to increase
the number of leading zeroes on invoice seq_id's so that they get sorted
appropriately when you go over 100. It's a right pain to see item 100
after item 10. I think I raised a jira about this a day or two back.

Cheers, Iain

-------------------------------

Ian, you don't need a large invoice.  Just change the screen widget's VIEW_SIZE to something small like "2" or "5", and then you can see what happens if there are only 2 or 5 items on your invoice.

---------------------------------

Si,

Thanks for the tip. The problem is fixed.

However, there is a small (apparently benign problem when you go to the invoice "Items" screen. When you navigate to the next screen, the following error is displayed:

The Following Errors Occurred:

    * The following required parameter is missing: [updateInvoiceItem.invoiceItemSeqId]

It doesn't seem to cause any problems, but is distracting

Can you check if the form's paginate target is "updateInvoiceItem"?

Si,

It paginates fine, but each page generates an error:

The Following Errors Occurred:

      [updateInvoiceItem.invoiceItemSeqId]

The invoice items are displayed correctly though.

Cheers, Iain

---------------------------------

Jacopo,

Thanks for the fix. I'll try to upgrade in the next 1-2 days. I'm really
focussed on getting a workable solution for handling sales and refund
transactions at the moment (I have to handle CC transactions offline for
the moment, and seems to be a bit of an issue for OFBiz at the moment).

Cheers, Iain
