When the cost bearer of the expense declaration is set, the associated approving member is set.

- In the case of a marketing event being the cost bearer, the marketing campain owner (or manager) is the approving manager
- in the case of a project or project task being the cost bearer, the project manager (or the project controller) is the approving manager
- in the case of a general or operational expense GL-account the manager of the organisational unit the employee belongs to is the approving manager
