[OFBiz] Users - OFBiz] Users - ASP.NET

Rohit Rai
Hello Jaques,

I am sorry I didn't get your question.
Rohit,

Do you really like open-source, and why ?

Jacques

Ofcourse, I love Open source. I have been invloved with the community since I began programming through the Linux OS. And remain comitted to it whole heartedly.

Why??? - Becuase that is the way we always saw at coding. Open and free for all. When I started programming at 12 we amongst friends never hid any code neither we charged for it. Something of it still remains in here.

By profession I am a Managing Director of Echo IT labs Pvt. Ltd., a S/W and Web Dev company we formed a year ago and I do need to charge for my products cause that is my business, but then I have tried to evolve most of my business around Open source. Our every client gets the complete sourcecode of his solution requirement and is free to use and even redistribute itunder GPL license. Our company is also in phase of realeasing around 10 products (Few research) Other production qualitiy stuff to the community. Some being quite unparalled in Open source. Like Project Identity, a Bio Metric System. We have also made a 3 CD set of tools containing Open Source Development tools for Java, J2EE, .NET, PHP, Web Dev and a specially customised version of Eclipse that has support for Java, J2EE, PHP, Perl, Python, RUBY, C/C++, COBOL, and many Other things including the Open Architectureware for MDA. We distribute this set for free to propogate open source use amongst students and developers.

Personally, I have been a trainer since last 6 years. I began my career as a Linux trainer and consultant. During DOTCOM BOOM I had made a site ofcourse using free resources cause I hardly had any money to pay for it then, called Project learnIT4free with an aim of making most of available learnign material for anything you can think of under Open Publication License, It failed due to lack of money and advertising. I was the first one to introduce PHP in our City, Aurangabad and also am the first who trains Java,J2EE and J2ME students on the opensource Eclipse and Netbeans Environment, introduce them to Subversion and moreover teach them UML using ARGOUML. I am also the only person training for Python in the City. I have also trained students on MONO and Sharpdevelop (.NET) I take seminars on Advantages of Open source. I

Now, I think when you eat breath and drink Open Source You hardly can afford not to like it.

I feel hurt when people said that Being a IT Firm in its infancy we cannot remain commited to Open Source.

I think that will surely clear your ideas on my view towards Open Source

Rohit

Thanks Rohit, you convinced me. It was not clear for me why you posted links to Oracle and ASP.NET. That's why I sent this email. Forget it ;o)

Yeah, that's it, you may see another one below. Perhaps using text format would escape from that ...
