Hi,

unfortunately the svn server at Apache is having hardware issues and
the infrastructure team is still working on it.
Hopefully it will be fixed in the next few hours.

Not before 24 hours they say:

<<The infrastructure team profusely apologizes for
the inconvenience, but we're obviously having
issues with the new svn server.  Infrastructure's
primary objective is to not lose any commit history,
so I'm afraid svn will be down for another day or
so while we sort out our options.
Thanks again.>>

But I thought it was ok to read. Anyway, we are near from the 1st may...

Hello ladroge,

Just write "svn co https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/ofbiz/branches/release4.0 ofbiz.4.0" on the command prompt. Just follow the instructions and latest release will be checkout to your machine.

Just as a note you can install a plugin and use eclipse.
http://subclipse.tigris.org/download.html
you can use
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/ofbiz
then you can download either the trunk or branch/release4.0
